| Material and usage | Each mug is handmade from high-quality white chamotte clay, which has excellent plasticity and can withstand high-temperature firing. This type of clay gives the product a pleasant texture, light graininess, and durability, while retaining a feeling of warmth and comfort. The shape is molded by hand on a potter's wheel, making each mug truly unique. The nose, eyebrows, and glasses are created as separate elements and then carefully attached to the main body. All details are carefully aligned to preserve the anatomical charisma of "Mr. Nose." After drying, the mug undergoes its first (utilitarian) firing at a temperature of about 980°C to make it durable and ready for glazing. The master then applies the glaze by hand: matte on the glasses and eyebrows, and semi-gloss on the rest of the surface. The contrast in textures makes the expression of the "face" particularly expressive and memorable. The final firing — a secondary high-temperature firing (at around 1050–1080°C) — sets the glaze and gives the product its final appearance. The result: you get not just a mug, but a bright character made of clay — created with humor, soul, and attention to detail. |
